The British Long Range Desert Group was a special forces troop which specialised in desert combat, where sometimes the harsh, unyielding climate was itself as treacherous as the enemy. As a precursor of the modern day "elite forces", they waged unconventional warfare against Axis forces across the vast deserts of North Africa, executing highly mobile operations covering vast distances.
