BATTLE OF BIR HAKEIM [Free French Soldiers (vs German Hostiles from NA core) ]

The Battle of Bir Hakeim and the delays which it caused to the Axis offensive contributed to the cancellation of Operation Herkules, the invasion of Malta. The Free French forces fiercely defended the oasis known as Bir Hakeim against a superior marauding Panzerarmee force, taking heavy casualties, but in turn their actions became a moral and propaganda victory in its own right, proving the combat effectiveness of the French forces.
