All along the cost of Westeros, sailors know to fear the Ironborn Reavers. Sightings of their longships are met with fear and trepidation. The Reavers are coastal raiders, ready to make quick assaults wherever they please. Now, these pirates loyal to House Greyjoy are bringing their swift hit-and-run tactics inland during all the chaos caused by the war for the Iron Throne.
The Ironborn Reavers unit box for the A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game gives House Greyjoy players a new melee assault unit for their forces. They are adept at grabbing loot from fallen foes, getting stronger as they decimate enemy units. However, being lightly armored, a smart commander would know when to pull back and let the Reavers regroup before joining in the fray once more.
Tactical points
- Ironborn Reavers are very cost-effective against armored opponents due to their Sundering ability.
- As the Ironborn Reavers acquire pillage tokens, their To Hit value increases, making them hit up to par with even elite units.
- Use the Reaver Captain’s Outflank Ability to force tough choices on your opponent’s deployment.
- Be careful! Although the Ironborn Reavers are great at dealing wounds, their Defense and Morale values are not as impressive.
