Battle of Son Tay

Battle of Son Tay is a two-player historical strategy game covering the French assault on the fortified city of Son Tay during the Tonkin campaign.

Product Type: Standalone boxed wargame.

One player commands the French expeditionary forces, while the other commands the opposing Chinese forces, including Black Flag troops, Chinese regulars, and local allies. The French aim to capture the fortress and break resistance in Tonkin, while the defenders rely on prepared positions and determined resistance to repel the attack.

Designed to play in about 90 minutes, Battle of Son Tay uses cards to vary gameplay and recreate the uncertainty of this hard-fought colonial-era battle.
