Battles from the Age of Reason: BAR Primer

Battles from the Age of Reason: BAR Primer is a learning and support supplement for Clash of Arms’ Battles from the Age of Reason series, a detailed tactical system covering mid-18th-century warfare in Europe and America.

The BAR Primer is designed to help players get more comfortable with the system, especially those approaching the Third Edition rules. It includes illustrated rules examples, tactical guidance and learning modules, making it useful both for new players and for returning players who want a clearer route into the series’ more detailed rules.

The supplement also includes 280 upgrade and errata counters for earlier BAR games, adding practical value for existing collectors of the series.

Note: the Primer can be used with all Battles from the Age of Reason games and older rules sets, but it is designed around the Third Edition rules. Fontenoy is required to use the Learning Modules section.
