Commands & Colors Tricorne: The American Revolution brings Richard Borg’s popular Commands & Colors system to the battles of the American Revolution. Command cards drive movement and battlefield options, while custom battle dice keep combat fast, tense and easy to resolve.

The game is accessible, but not simplistic. Each army has its own Combat card deck, helping reflect the different battlefield doctrines of British and Continental forces. Morale is especially important: units may suffer only limited physical losses but still break and rout when pushed too hard, giving battles a distinct American Revolution character.

The included scenarios cover 12 engagements, including Bunker Hill, Long Island, Freeman’s Farm, Bemis Heights, Monmouth, Camden, Cowpens, Guilford Courthouse, Hobkirk’s Hill and Eutaw Springs. Scenario scale varies, allowing the system to represent both larger battles and smaller actions.

Commands & Colors Tricorne is a good fit for two players who enjoy the Commands & Colors family and want a fast-playing, historical American Revolution game with plenty of tactical decisions.
