Fall Blau: Army Group South, June to December 1942, 2nd Printing

The system is based on a modified version of the classic Operation Typhoon and Victory in the West approach, with strong units drawing random strength chits to determine combat value. The turn sequence remains straightforward, while mechanized units, air points and a supply/support system create the operational pressure that shaped the campaign.

The Axis player must push hard while dealing with growing supply limits and the impossibility of attacking everywhere at once. The Soviet player must absorb the blows, trade space, counterattack where possible and eventually look for the opportunity to break the German offensive.

With nine scenarios, Fall Blau can be played as anything from a short learning scenario to the full 60-turn campaign. Smaller scenarios cover Voronezh, the Don Bend, Operation Uranus, the Caucasus and the gates of Stalingrad, while the campaign game gives players the full sweep of the 1942 southern offensive.

Contents include: three 22″ x 34″ maps, two smaller maps, three and a half countersheets with approximately 980 half-inch counters, one rulebook, one scenario book, fourteen player aid cards, one 10-sided die, and one box and lid set.
