Ici c’est la France! – 2nd Edition: The Algerian War of Independence 1954–1962 is a two-player wargame covering the war between France and the FLN in Algeria.

The game treats the conflict as more than a conventional military campaign. Political control, insurgent activity, and military operations are closely linked, and victory depends on managing the balance between all three. The FLN player works to build the independence struggle through guerrilla forces, political pressure, and regional influence, while the French player brings regular and elite formations to bear while trying to maintain control.

FLN forces include moussebilines, moudjahidines, and zonal commandos. France fields infantry, mechanized troops, paratroopers, and Foreign Legion units, ranging from regular formations to elite regiments. The result is an asymmetric treatment of a difficult conflict where battlefield success alone is not enough.

With area movement, three-month turns, and a focus on political-military interaction, Ici c’est la France! is best suited to players interested in insurgency, decolonisation, and modern conflict simulations with strong strategic and political pressure.
