Set on the Eastern Front during 1941–42, the game covers small-unit WWII engagements between German and Soviet forces. Players command infantry, support weapons, guns, and vehicles across large mounted maps using impulse-driven turns that keep both sides involved.

The 2nd Edition updates the soldier and vehicle artwork, incorporates errata, refreshes the player aids, and includes revised scenarios plus 2 new tutorial scenarios. It is still very much Old School Tactical: big maps, big counters, clear procedures, and enough armour combat to make cautious movement feel like wisdom rather than cowardice.
