Panzer Expansion 4: France 1940

This expansion adds the major French and German forces of the campaign, including French armor such as the Char B1-bis, Somua S-35, Renault tanks, armored cars, anti-tank guns, aircraft, and supporting infantry weapons. The German side includes early-war panzers, assault guns, aircraft, guns, and motorized formations.

The set includes 12 scenarios, including actions around Stonne, Montcornet, the Meuse crossings, and other key engagements of the 1940 campaign. Two solitaire scenarios are also included, using a game-driven AI system for one side.

A major addition is the Panzer leader system, with leader counters for French, German, US, British, and Soviet forces. These leaders can influence combat, morale, spotting, recovery, and other battlefield situations. The expansion also introduces hull and turret damage rules for players who want added tactical detail.

This is a strong expansion for Panzer players who want to explore early-war armored combat, where doctrine, vehicle design, and command quality could matter as much as raw firepower.

Requires: Panzer base game. Ownership of Panzer Expansion 1, 2, or 3 is not required.
