Pursuit of Glory 2nd edition

Pursuit of Glory: The Great War in the Near East is a card-driven WWI strategy game and a companion design to Paths of Glory, shifting the focus to the Ottoman Empire and the wider Near Eastern theater.

Players command either the British/Russian alliance or the Ottoman Empire as the war spreads across the Caucasus, Mesopotamia, Persia, the Balkans, Gallipoli, Suez, and beyond. The game is full of difficult choices: each card can be used for its historical event, operational movement, combat, or resources, and there is never enough time to do everything.

The Ottoman player must decide whether to seek an early breakthrough through bold offensives and regional uprisings, or survive long enough to exhaust the enemy. The Allied player must hold key positions, coordinate distant fronts, protect vital oil and canal routes, and manage the consequences of Russian instability.

This 2nd Edition updates the game with a mounted board, revised rules and playbook, updated cards, corrected counters, and incorporated errata from earlier editions. It is a strong choice for players who enjoy card-driven strategy games with broad geography, tense hand management, and a less commonly gamed side of the First World War.
