Spirit Island is a complex cooperative strategy game in which players are powerful spirits defending their island from colonizing Invaders.

Each spirit has its own personality, growth options, elemental affinities, and power cards. On each turn, players choose which powers to use, spend energy, spread their presence, gain new abilities, and work together to protect the land and the islanders who live there.

The Invaders expand in a semi-predictable way, exploring new lands, building towns and cities, and ravaging the island if they are not stopped. Some spirit powers act quickly, before the Invaders can cause damage, while slower powers require planning ahead and predicting where danger will strike next.

Spirit Island is highly thematic, deeply strategic, and strongly cooperative. It is best suited to players who enjoy challenging games with asymmetric player powers, long-term planning, and plenty of replay value.
