Spruance Leader: Cold War Fleet Combat

Spruance Leader: Cold War Fleet Combat is a solitaire naval warfare game in the DVG Leader series, placing you in command of a Cold War-era US task force facing Soviet threats in the 1980s.

Players select ships and a task force commander, organize vessels into screening, main, and protected force positions, purchase helicopters and ordnance, then head toward the mission target. Mission planning matters: the wrong force mix can leave you exposed to enemy aircraft, submarines, or surface ships at exactly the worst moment.

Tactical encounters pit your ships against Soviet forces on the tactical display, using fast and slow actions to engage threats while managing damage, stress, ammunition, and commander performance. Campaign tracks, random events, experience, and skill levels give each operation longer-term consequences.
