Storms in the East: Finland–Romania 1944

Storms in the East: Finland–Romania 1944 is a Vae Victis wargame covering two hard-fought late-war battles on the Eastern Front.

The first battle is Tali-Ihantala in June 1944, where Soviet forces attacked the Finnish VKT-line while Operation Bagration was beginning farther south. The Finnish player must use reserves, artillery, and limited support to stop the Soviet breakthrough and preserve Finland’s position.

The second battle is Turda in Romania, where Soviet and Romanian forces advanced into Transylvania and clashed with Hungarian and German defenders, including the 23rd Panzer Division. The Axis player must contain repeated attacks along the Mureș while the Soviet player tries to break through decisively.

Part of the Storms in the East series, this is a compact operational World War II game focused on mobile battles, pressure, and counterattacks in less commonly covered theaters of 1944.
