Target For Tonight: Britain’s Strategic Air Campaign Over Europe, 1942–1945

Target For Tonight: Britain’s Strategic Air Campaign Over Europe, 1942–1945 is a solitaire game recreating Britain’s night bombing campaign against Nazi-occupied Europe during the Second World War.

The player commands an individual RAF bomber on a night mission over the Third Reich, flying aircraft such as the Avro Lancaster, Short Stirling, Handley-Page Halifax, or Vickers Wellington. Missions can be played individually or linked into campaigns that form an operational tour of duty.

Where Target For Today focuses on the American daylight bombing campaign, Target For Tonight shifts the action to RAF Bomber Command’s night operations. The player must survive navigation, flak, searchlights, night fighters, target approach, bombing, damage, crew survival, and the return flight home.

The game includes twelve campaigns, each built from individual missions, giving players a strong narrative solitaire experience with plenty of replay value. It is a natural companion to Target For Today and a good fit for players who enjoy detailed but playable mission-based air-war games.
