The game focuses on actions from the fighting near Krivoi Rog in Ukraine during 1943 and Operation Bagration in 1944. These missions cover both Soviet attacks and German counterattacks, with more open terrain and heavier armored forces than in earlier volumes.

The key change is how the Soviet army is represented. Russian forces bring numbers and offensive power, but their tactical command flexibility is more limited. Playing them well requires a different mindset from the Western Allied or German forces in earlier games: pressure, mass, and mission focus matter, even when the cost is high.

This volume adds Soviet armor from late 1942 onward, additional late-war German vehicles, new maps, and 15 missions. It is a strong choice for players who enjoy The Last Hundred Yards system and want a different tactical challenge on the Eastern Front.
