Alexandros and Spartacus

Alexandros and Spartacus brings together two classic ancient wargames by Mike Markowitz in one deluxe Compass Games edition. Originally published in Command magazine, these designs return with updated graphics, full-size maps and additional expansion material included.

Alexandros: Conquest & Empire covers the campaigns of Alexander the Great from 334 to 323 BC. One player commands the Macedonians, while the other leads the Persians in a strategic contest of conquest, leaders, territory and decisive battles. The game can also be adapted for solitaire play and includes tactical battle resolution, siege rules and several different ways to win.

The package also includes the Successors: Clash of Generals, 323-301 BC and Xenophon: March of the Ten-Thousand, 401-400 BC expansions, giving players even more ancient campaigning in the same historical world.

I Am Spartacus: The Slave Rebellion Against Rome, 73-71 BC recreates the Third Servile War, with one player leading the Roman Republic and the other commanding Spartacus and the rebel slaves. Sudden victory is possible if Rome falls or Spartacus is captured, but most games are decided by territorial control and victory points over 17 turns.

The edition also includes Pyrrhic Victory: Legion vs Phalanx, 280-275 BC, along with historical and informational articles on the period.
