ASL Battle of the Hedgerows: Purple Heart Draw is an ASL-compatible historical study module focused on the eastern slope of Hill 192 during the Normandy campaign.
The action takes place near St-Georges-d’Elle, France, on 11 July 1944, as elements of the U.S. 23rd Infantry Regiment push forward against German defenders in difficult hedgerow terrain. The Americans must cross and clear the obstacle known as Purple Heart Draw, a gully running across the battalion front and covered by deadly defensive fire.
The module includes a historical map of the eastern slope of Hill 192 and four scenarios played on different parts of the map. These scenarios can also be linked through the included Tactical Mission / campaign-style format for a more connected treatment of the day’s fighting.
This is a focused Normandy ASL module for players interested in bocage fighting, Hill 192, American infantry attacks, and historical-map tactical play.
Requires: the Advanced Squad Leader core game system. This is not a standalone product.
Contents include: one colour 23" x 30" historical map, four ASL scenarios, and Tactical Mission / campaign-game material.
