Bastogne: A Desperate Defense is a two-player World War II folio wargame from Decision Games covering the desperate American defense of Bastogne during the German Ardennes offensive in December 1944. The town’s vital road junctions made it a key objective in the Battle of the Bulge, and the surrounded American defenders had to hold against repeated German attacks.

Using the Fire & Movement system, Bastogne emphasizes maneuver, support fire, attrition, and careful asset management. Players can commit anti-tank units, mortars, artillery, and other support assets as attacks develop, but these resources are limited and must be used at the right moment.

The German player must break through quickly and capture the road hub before the opportunity closes. The American player must use defensive positions, fire support, and stubborn resistance to delay the assault and keep Bastogne from falling.
