Castle Itter

Players command the mixed defending force of US soldiers, Wehrmacht infantrymen, French prisoners, an Austrian resistance fighter, and others as they try to hold the castle against the attacking SS force. It is a small battle with an unusual cast, which gives the game a very distinct historical flavor.

Gameplay focuses on managing defenders, placing fire where it matters, and stopping SS counters before they can reach the castle. The pressure builds as the assault continues, and victory depends on surviving until the SS deck runs out while keeping as many defenders alive as possible.
