Cataphract

Cataphract is a tactical ancient and early medieval battle game in GMT’s Great Battles of History series, focused on the wars of the early Byzantine Empire under Justinian.

Players command armies from the age of Belisarius and Narses, when the Eastern Roman Empire attempted to reconquer parts of the former Western Empire. Battles feature heavily armored cavalry, infantry formations, missile troops, and the changing battlefield methods of the late ancient world.

The box includes several major battles from the era, along with the Justinian campaign game, which places those battles within the wider strategic effort to restore imperial control. This edition also includes the battles of the Utus River and the Catalaunian Fields from the earlier Attila: Scourge of God module, expanding its late Roman and early medieval scope.
