Dominant Species: Marine is a strategic area-control game for 2 to 4 players, set in the prehistoric oceans after the end of an Ice Age.

Each player controls one aquatic animal class—dinosaur, fish, cephalopod, or crustacean—and competes to spread, adapt, evolve, and dominate a changing marine ecosystem. Success depends on matching your species to available elements, expanding into valuable habitats, and using the environment better than your rivals.

Compared to the original Dominant Species, this version keeps the core struggle for survival but streamlines several elements. Actions happen immediately when pawns are placed, reducing downtime and making the game more flexible. Special pawns, trait cards, and revised dominance rules give players new ways to shape their strategy.

The result is still a tense, interactive game of adaptation and competition, but with a faster tempo and a more focused player count.
