Fulda Gap: A CSS Game – Modern War Volume 1 is a modern tactical-operational wargame from Compass Games using the Company Scale System. Set in Cold War West Germany, it covers a hypothetical Warsaw Pact advance through the Fulda Gap, where NATO’s 11th Cavalry Regiment and follow-on forces must delay, hold and counterattack against a powerful Soviet assault.

The game includes modern battlefield systems such as helicopters, air support, electronic warfare, chemical weapons and nuclear weapons. With company and platoon-scale units, two-hour turns and 500-meter hexes, Fulda Gap gives players a detailed look at the kind of high-intensity Central Front battle NATO planners feared.
