Combat Veteran introduces a simple two-player system for modern infantry firefights, focusing on the dynamics of small-unit combat at the individual soldier level. The game includes two historical scenarios: Firefight at the Rice Paddy Angle, set in Vietnam’s Mekong region in 1967, and Firefight at Combat Outpost Keating, set in Afghanistan’s Nuristan Province in 2009.

Both scenarios feature roughly platoon-sized U.S. infantry forces facing numerically superior enemy forces, creating a compact tactical game about positioning, firepower, pressure, and survival in close combat.
