Labyrinth: The War on Terror, 2001–? is a card-driven strategy game for one or two players, designed by Volko Ruhnke.
The game covers the global struggle between jihadist networks and the United States after the September 11 attacks. One side seeks to spread cells, exploit instability, and pursue ideological momentum, while the US player must disrupt plots, manage alliances, and support reform in key regions.
Like Twilight Struggle, Labyrinth uses event cards to drive a tense historical simulation, but the play is strongly asymmetrical. Each side has different tools, goals, and pressures, creating a strategic contest that is about more than direct confrontation.
The game can also be played solitaire, making it a good choice for players who enjoy modern-history strategy games with political, military, and ideological layers.
Contents include: mounted map, 156 counters, 120 cards, wooden cubes and cylinders, rules booklet, play booklet, player aid cards, and four six-sided dice.
