Lebensraum: The War for Europe

Lebensraum: The War for Europe is a grand strategic World War II wargame covering the conflict between Nazi Germany and the Allies from 1941 to 1945.

Players operate at the highest level of command, directing army groups across both the Eastern and Western Fronts. The game emphasizes large-scale decision-making: where to commit forces, how to manage multiple fronts, and when to shift priorities as the war evolves. Leadership plays a key role, with named leaders influencing operations and effectiveness on the battlefield.

Airpower, naval support, partisan activity, production centers, and transportation networks all contribute to the broader strategic picture. With quarterly turns and a wide map scale, the focus is on long-term planning rather than individual battles, making each decision feel consequential over the course of the campaign.

This edition combines and updates the classic Simulations Canada titles Lebensraum and West Front, integrating errata, refinements, and new artwork into a single package. It can be played as separate front-specific scenarios or as a full combined campaign covering the entire European war.

With a range of shorter scenarios and longer campaigns, it offers flexibility for both quicker sessions and extended strategic play. It is especially suited to players who enjoy managing entire theaters of war rather than focusing on individual operations.

Contents include: three maps (total playing surface approximately 50” x 35”), three countersheets of 9/16” counters, four player aid cards, one rule and scenario book, two dice, and a box with lid.
