New York 1776: Remastered

New York 1776: Remastered is the first volume in Worthington’s American Revolution Campaigns series. The game covers the critical 1776 New York campaign, when the British had perhaps their best chance to capture George Washington, destroy the Continental Army, and end the American Revolution before it could fully take hold.

The game is strategic in scope, using point-to-point land movement, water zones, commanders, and wooden blocks to create fog of war. Battles are resolved tactically on a separate battle board, giving the campaign both operational maneuver and battlefield drama. British and Hessian regulars bring professional strength, while the Americans must rely on a difficult mix of Continentals, militia, maneuver, and survival.

The British player wins by capturing Washington or reducing his army while holding New York City at the end of the game. The American player wins by avoiding disaster, denying British victory, or reducing the British army below its required strength. Fast-playing but strategically rich, New York 1776: Remastered is ideal for players who enjoy block wargames, Revolutionary War history, and tense campaigns where escape can be as important as victory.
