Nights of Fire: Battle for Budapest

Nights of Fire: Battle for Budapest is a standalone historical card-driven board wargame from Mighty Boards about the Soviet assault on Budapest during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution.

The game begins after the initial success of the Hungarian uprising, as Soviet forces launch Operation Whirlwind and push into Budapest. Players command the Hungarian insurgents trying to resist the Soviet military machine for as long as possible, while the Soviet side can be controlled by the game system or by a live opponent.

Nights of Fire can be played solo, cooperatively by 2 players, or by 1–2 players against an opponent controlling the Soviet troops. It combines card and action management with the pressure and spatial feel of a block wargame, creating an accessible historical conflict game about survival against overwhelming force.

It is the second game in Mighty Boards’ Hungarian Revolution duology after Days of Ire, but it is a standalone game.
