Panzer Grenadier: Broken Axis

Panzer Grenadier: Broken Axis is a complete game in the Panzer Grenadier series, covering the Red Army’s 1944 offensives against Axis-allied Romania. After driving German forces out of Soviet Ukraine, the Soviets pushed into Romania, where German and Romanian defenders initially held prepared lines before the front finally broke and Romania changed sides.

The game includes German, Romanian and Soviet forces, with late-war armour and weapons on all sides. German formations bring vehicles such as Panthers, Tigers, Panzer IVs and assault guns, while the Romanian Army fields rebuilt formations with German-supplied tanks and modern anti-tank guns. The Soviet side includes powerful new equipment such as JS-2 heavy tanks and early T-34/85s.

The scenario set includes the fighting around Târgu Frumos and other actions from the campaign. Scenarios can be played individually or linked through battle games for a broader campaign experience.

Broken Axis is a strong choice for Panzer Grenadier players interested in the Eastern Front beyond the most familiar battles, especially late-war operations involving Romania, German elite formations and increasingly powerful Soviet mechanized forces.
