Paper Wars 100: Inkerman is a magazine issue with an enclosed two-player grand-tactical wargame covering the Battle of Inkerman during the Crimean War.
Using the alternating-actions system seen in earlier Paper Wars titles such as Wagram and Alma, the game focuses on overall command rather than tactical micromanagement. Players act as supreme commanders, deciding where to commit strength, when to press attacks, and how to respond as the battlefield shifts.
The battle itself was a desperate Russian attempt to break the Allied siege lines near Sevastopol. Dense fog, difficult terrain, confused command, and repeated attacks created a chaotic struggle where both sides had to attack and defend. The result is a compact, low-intermediate game with strong command friction and plenty of uncertainty.
Contents include: Paper Wars magazine issue 100 with enclosed Inkerman game components, including a map and one sheet of 228 medium-size 5/8” counters.
