Race for Bastogne

Beginning on the night of 15 December 1944, the game follows XLVII Panzer Corps as it attacks across the Our River with 2. Panzer Division, 26. Volksgrenadier Division, and Panzer Lehr. Facing them are elements of the U.S. 28th Infantry Division, followed by the delaying actions of Combat Command Reserve, 9th Armored Division, Combat Command B, 10th Armored Division, and the defense of Bastogne by the 101st Airborne Division.

This is a focused GTS treatment of terrain, tempo, delay, and reinforcement. What should have been a rapid German breakthrough becomes a difficult fight through stubborn resistance, poor roads, and American formations arriving just in time to turn Bastogne from a road junction into a fortress.

Race For Bastogne includes one campaign game and six scenarios, with several playable on a single map or part of a map. Contents include the GTS 2.0c series rules, game-exclusive rules, rules summary, TRC/TEC cards, divisional charts, off-map display and turn record chart, two 22" x 34" maps, one double-sided 8.5" x 11" map, eight 5/8" countersheets, four 10-sided dice, box, and lid.
