Res Arcana

Res Arcana is a compact fantasy strategy game where 2 to 4 alchemical mages compete for control of ancient monuments and Places of Power.

Players gather magical essences, build artifacts, activate powers, command creatures and dragons, and race to be the first mage to reach 10 or more victory points. Each player starts with a mage, a magic item, and a small personal deck of artifacts, so the challenge is finding the best combinations from limited tools.

The game is quick, tense, and highly replayable. Success depends on reading your cards well, building an efficient engine, and timing your actions before another mage claims the monument or Place of Power you needed.

Res Arcana is an excellent choice for players who enjoy engine building, tight card combinations, resource conversion, and fantasy strategy in a relatively short playtime. The base game can also be expanded with Lux et Tenebrae and Perlae Imperii.
