The Japanese player is primarily on the offensive, attempting to capture China’s primary port and capital cities quickly enough to deliver a decisive political shock. The Chinese player must resist, delay, and preserve the ability to continue the war.
Units represent Japanese regiments and Chinese divisions. Japanese units vary mainly by combat experience, while Chinese divisions vary in manpower, training, combat strength, and staying power. Each hex represents seven miles / 11 km, and each full game turn represents about two weeks.
Components include: one 22×34 inch map and 176 counters.
