Sun of York

Sun of York is a tactical card game covering the battles of the Wars of the Roses, the dynastic struggle between the houses of Lancaster and York.

Players build and command battlefield forces using cards representing leaders, troops, terrain, and special events. Famous figures such as Henry VI, Margaret of Anjou, Edward IV, Richard III, and Warwick the Kingmaker appear as leaders, each influencing combat and morale in different ways.

The game’s key feature is its Orders system. Leaders can direct troops under their command, but units without leaders require Orders cards to act. This creates tough hand-management decisions, as players may need to sacrifice useful cards just to keep their army functioning before the line collapses.

With multiple historical battles, smaller engagements, random setup options, and a campaign system, Sun of York offers a compact but flavorful treatment of late medieval English warfare.

Contents include: two 110-card decks, 140 status markers, rulebook, two player aid cards, and five six-sided dice.
