The Doomsday Project: Episode Two – The Battle for the Balkans

The Doomsday Project: Episode Two – The Battle for the Balkans is an operational Cold War wargame covering a hypothetical NATO vs Warsaw Pact conflict across southern Europe in 1985.

This second game in The Doomsday Project shifts the focus from Germany to the Balkan front, with maps stretching from northern Italy to the Bosporus. Players command divisional, brigade, and regiment-level forces while dealing with the military and political complications of a region packed with competing states, alliances, and strategic pressure points.

Building on the Operational Scale System, this volume adds more sophisticated political rules, including national leaders with their own advantages and drawbacks. It can be played on its own or linked with The Battle for Germany for a much larger campaign.

Contents include: four 22” x 34” maps, two 8.5” x 11” maps, five countersheets, eight player aids, charts and displays, one rulebook, one scenario book, two six-sided dice, two 10-sided dice, and a box with lid.
