The Plum Island Horror

The Plum Island Horror is a cooperative survival game for 1 to 4 players, blending tactical unit management with a tower-defense style outbreak system.

Players control different factions on Plum Island, each with its own strengths, weaknesses, leader, units, and fortified compound. Working together, they must evacuate civilians, contain the spreading horror, and prevent the crisis from escaping beyond the island. Victory is shared, and so is failure—very democratic, considering the circumstances.

The game uses a variable turn order system driven by cubes drawn from a bag. Player factions activate, horrors spawn and advance, and “Impending Doom” events keep the pressure rising. The Follow mechanic lets players take extra actions out of turn, but doing so risks triggering dangerous events, making every bit of teamwork a gamble.

With multiple factions, event-driven threats, search cards, mutations, and shifting tactical priorities, The Plum Island Horror offers a tense cooperative experience with plenty of replayability.
