Waterloo Solitaire: Board Game Edition

Waterloo Solitaire: Board Game Edition is a solitaire Napoleonic wargame from Worthington Publishing, based on the earlier Waterloo Solitaire Bookgame. The boxed board game version uses cards and plays in about 60 minutes, giving solo players a compact way to refight one of history’s most famous battles.

You can play either side. Command Napoleon and the French army against an Allied bot, or take Wellington’s Allied army against a French bot. Each opposing bot has three difficulty levels — Challenging, Veteran, and Tough — so the game can be tuned as you learn the system.

On your turn, you play one action card from your hand and may support it with Combined Arms Tactics. The bot side acts through its own solitaire card system and die rolls. Your choices create die roll modifiers, trigger attacks, eliminate units, and produce tactical events, giving the battle a clear push-and-pull without needing a second player.
