Athens & Sparta: The Peloponnesian War

Athens & Sparta: The Peloponnesian War is a strategic block wargame from Columbia Games covering the long struggle between Athens and Sparta from 431 to 404 BC.

One player commands wealthy, naval-minded Athens, while the other controls militarized Sparta and its powerful land forces. The war is fought for control of important Greek city-states, with each side needing to make use of its very different strengths. Athens relies on money, fleets and maritime reach; Sparta depends on land power, discipline and pressure on the Greek mainland.

As a Columbia block game, Athens & Sparta uses wooden blocks to create fog of war and uncertainty, making manoeuvre, positioning and timing central to play.
