Atlanta Campaign 1864: When Dixie Died is an updated edition of Don Lowry’s classic design on Sherman’s 1864 campaign in northern Georgia.
Union forces must press south with the goal of defeating the Confederate Army of Tennessee and capturing Atlanta, a vital rail and industrial centre. The campaign’s outcome helped set the stage for Sherman’s March to the Sea and the collapse of Confederate power in the Deep South.
Players can fight the full campaign or choose from four shorter scenarios. Leaders play an important role, while the combat system introduces uncertainty and friction into the struggle for control of the route to Atlanta.
This is a compact American Civil War campaign game for players interested in operational movement, leadership, and the hard-fought battles that shaped the final year of the war.
Contents include: full-colour printed rules, player aid cards, maps, and die-cut counters.
