Battle of Isly

Battle of Isly is a low-to-moderate complexity tactical wargame covering Marshal Bugeaud’s 1844 campaign against Moroccan forces during the French conquest of Algeria.

One player commands the French forces advancing into Morocco, while the other commands the Moroccan army raised by the Sultan and led by his son. Abdel Kader, the charismatic resistance leader fighting French rule in Algeria, has found refuge in Morocco, drawing the French campaign across the border.

Designed to play in about 90 minutes, Battle of Isly uses cards to vary gameplay and focuses on the clash between Moroccan numerical strength and French tactical doctrine under Marshal Bugeaud.
