Bismarck: The Last Battle

Bismarck: The Last Battle is a solitaire naval wargame from Compass Games covering the final five days of the famous German battleship Bismarck. The player commands Bismarck, with Prinz Eugen also in play, as the German ships attempt to break out into the Atlantic or reach safety at Brest.

The game uses a card-driven battle system built around five separate daily decks. Enemy ships, aircraft and events appear through the cards, creating a tense sequence of historical threats while still giving each playthrough its own rhythm. British carriers, battleships, battlecruisers, destroyers and bomber attacks all threaten the German force as the situation grows more desperate.

Players must manage naval combat, flak, repairs, fire, hull damage, weather and damage control while trying to sink enemy warships, shoot down aircraft and keep Bismarck alive until the end of the fifth turn. With a low complexity rating and a playing time of around one to two hours, Bismarck: The Last Battle is a compact solitaire game for players who enjoy WWII naval history, desperate last stands and quick-playing solo challenges.

Contents include: one mounted 18″ x 18″ map, one 9/16″ countersheet, 31 game cards, one player aid card, one Bismarck and Prinz Eugen ship display card, one rules booklet and twelve 6-sided dice.
