Blitz in the East: The Russian Campaign 1941–45 is a VentoNuovo Games wargame covering the struggle between the Axis and the Soviet Union on the Eastern Front.

The Axis player begins with the shock and momentum of Operation Barbarossa, trying to destroy the Red Army, seize key objectives, and force a decision before mud, winter, distance, and Soviet recovery take hold. The Soviet player must survive the opening disaster, absorb the losses, rebuild strength, and turn the war into the long grinding campaign the Axis cannot afford.

The game uses a new strategic-level system focused on movement, attrition, logistics, production, and the limits of offensive operations. Event cards add historical pressure and plausible “what if” situations, but Blitz in the East is card-enhanced rather than card-driven. Turns represent two months, with scenarios and campaign play covering the war from June 1941 to December 1945 or earlier.
