Bonaparte in Italy: The Castiglione Campaign, 1796 is a two-player Napoleonic wargame from White Dog Games covering the dramatic fighting in northern Italy during Napoleon Bonaparte’s early rise to fame. After victories over Sardinian and Austrian forces, Bonaparte captured Milan and laid siege to Mantua, prompting Austria to send General Wurmser to relieve the fortress and challenge the young French commander.

One player commands the French Army of Italy under Bonaparte, while the other leads the Austrian forces under Wurmser. The game uses a point-to-point map of the Mantua region and a relatively simple system that highlights command, supply, leadership, cavalry, artillery, troop cohesion, forced marches, and marches to the sound of the guns.
