Border States is a standalone two-player tactical game from Shakos set during the American Civil War.
Product Type: Standalone tactical board wargame / political conflict game.
In Border States, one player controls the Union and the other controls the Confederacy. Both sides are trying to win decisive victories that will influence the five contested border states: Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, and West Virginia.
The game blends battlefield results with political pressure. Players must bluff, read their opponent’s intentions, and time their actions carefully to swing the border states toward their cause. With a playing time of around 45 minutes, Border States offers a compact American Civil War conflict game with a strong focus on pressure, timing, and uncertainty.
