Chickamauga: Bloody September, 1863 is Volume 4 in Paul Koenig’s Bloody Civil War Series, covering the Battle of Chickamauga on 19–20 September 1863.

The Confederate player has the rare advantage of outnumbering the Union army and must absorb Thomas’ initial attack before driving hard for a decisive result on the second day, when Longstreet arrives. The Union player must manage a slowly arriving army, hold the line under pressure, and hope that Thomas can once again become the “Rock of Chickamauga.”

The Bloody Civil War Series is designed as an accessible, classic hex-and-counter battle system rather than a heavy operational simulation. Chickamauga offers a focused treatment of one of the war’s bloodiest battles, with clear objectives, manageable rules, and a strong historical situation for players who enjoy traditional Civil War wargames.
