COALITION! The Napoleonic Wars, 1805-1815 is a grand-strategy wargame from Compass Games that lets players recreate the entire Napoleonic Wars in a single evening. Covering the period from Austerlitz to Waterloo, the game combines strategic decision-making with lighter operational elements to keep play moving at a brisk pace.

One player takes on the role of France, trying to maintain dominance through military victories, Gloire and political pressure, while the opposing side—led by Britain—forms successive coalitions to bring Napoleon down. In games with more players, each participant controls a major power with its own goals, alliances and opportunities for victory.

Armies, fleets, leaders and event cards drive the action. Famous commanders such as Napoleon, Wellington and Blücher influence battles, while mechanics like interception and “Marching to the Sound of the Guns” allow for dynamic and sometimes unpredictable engagements. The system is designed to resolve major campaigns quickly, letting players experience key moments of the wars without getting bogged down in detail.

With support for up to six players and a full campaign playable in around four to six hours, COALITION! offers a different take on Napoleonic gaming, focusing on accessibility, interaction and the sweep of the conflict rather than detailed simulation.

Contents include: one mounted 22″ x 34″ map, two sheets of 3/4″ counters, three decks of 56 playing cards, one rules booklet, multiple player aid cards, six 6-sided dice, and one box and lid set.
