Crusader: Battle for Tobruk

Crusader: Battle for Tobruk is a two-player World War II folio wargame from Decision Games covering Operation Crusader in November 1941. The Allies launch a surprise offensive to relieve the besieged port of Tobruk, while Rommel’s Afrika Korps attempts to contain the attack and preserve the Axis position in Libya.

Using the Fire & Movement system, Crusader emphasizes mechanized maneuver, support fire, attrition, and careful asset management. Players can commit mortars, tanks, air cover, artillery, and other support assets as attacks develop, but these resources are limited and must be used at the right moment.

The battle around Tobruk was chaotic, mobile, and near-run. The Allied player must open the way to Tobruk and keep the offensive moving, while the Axis player must counterattack, disrupt the relief effort, and exploit any Allied overextension.
