The game presents Dien Bien Phu as a battle of preparation, assault, and reaction. The Viet Minh player digs approach trenches, builds pressure, and launches attacks against the French strongpoints. The French player must manage reserves, firepower, supply, and collapsing positions while trying to hold long enough for the Viet Minh offensive to lose momentum.

This second edition is a substantial redesign and upgrade of the original game, with every component updated rather than simply revised through an upgrade kit. The result is a focused siege game with high tension, clear asymmetry, and constant pressure on both sides.
