Using the Blind Swords system, Grand Havoc recreates the confusion, friction, and sudden violence of 19th-century battlefield command. Chit pulls, activation rolls, and battlefield events challenge both players to coordinate infantry regiments, cavalry, and artillery batteries while coping with limited information and uncertain timing.

The battle itself was short, fierce, and marked by serious misreadings on both sides. Bragg believed he was facing only part of Buell’s army, while Buell failed to grasp the scale of the Confederate assault until one of his corps had been badly mauled. The result is a tense tactical contest where command confusion is not an exception, but the heart of the game.
