Interceptor Ace: Daylight Air Defense Over Germany, 1943–44 is a solitaire tactical air combat game placing you in the cockpit of a German fighter pilot during the daylight bombing campaign over Germany.
Each sortie sends your pilot into the air against incoming American bomber raids, with weather, interception, combat, damage, crew survival, and landing all shaping the story. Over time, successful missions earn experience and prestige, allowing you to improve skills, request transfers, pursue better aircraft, and build a career as an ace.
The game uses the Nightfighter Ace system and gives players a wide range of aircraft, including Bf 109s, Bf 110s, Me 410s, and Fw 190s. Each fighter has its own performance, weapons, damage profile, and operational considerations, while wingmen and crew skills add extra layers of tension and personality.
This is very much a career-narrative solitaire game: the appeal is not only whether you survive the next raid, but what kind of pilot you become along the way. It is especially suited to players who enjoy The Hunters, Silent Victory, Nightfighter Ace, or detailed solo games where every mission can become its own small war story.
Contents include: one 9/16” countersheet, fifteen double-sided aircraft display mats, four player aid cards, one combat display mat, two bomber target mats, one pilot awards display mat, one air operations display mat, eight ace pilot cards, sixty combat cards, rules booklet with historical background, one logsheet, two six-sided dice, one 10-sided die, one 20-sided die, and a box with lid.
